When Danish Broadcasting (DR) made the decision to replace the editing software in the news department with Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Mediasmiths was selected to develop an extension to integrate Adobe® Premiere® Pro CC and Prelude® CC with Media Arkivet, the Media Asset Management system at Danish Broadcasting.
As part of the project, Mediasmiths conducted workshops to determine functional and non-functional requirements as well as develop test specifications to ensure that the delivered integrations would meet the operational needs of Danish Broadcasting. Mediasmiths have also continued to provide 3rd line support.
“With a strong background in media technology, workflows and IT, Mediasmiths were able to provide us not only with an integration built to our specification but with a partnership that would draw on the experiences of both organizations in terms of workflow, quality assurance and support” says Gert Hansen, Teamleader R&D Post Production Systems.
The integrations are today used by around 300 members of the Danish Broadcasting news department on a daily basis to support tasks such as the acquisition of file based content from cameras and publishing of news packages from the Adobe® Creative Cloud® suite. The integrations also provide backup functions for critical workflows to enable production to continue in the event of outages of core environment components by for instance enabling editors and journalists to push packages directly to transmission servers from the video editing software.
